Multilevel Modeling: Research-Based Lessons for Substantive Researchers
2017
Organizations are multilevel systems. Most organizational phenomena are multilevel in nature, and their understanding involves variables (e.g., antecedents and consequences) that reside at different levels. The investigation of these phenomena requires appropriate analytical methods: multilevel modeling. These techniques are becoming increasingly popular among organizational psychology and organizational behavior (OPOB) researchers. In this article we review the literature that has evaluated the performance of multilevel modeling techniques to test multilevel direct and indirect effects and cross-level interactions. We also provide guidelines for OPOB researchers about the appropriate use …
Learning through experience in Research & Development: An empirical analysis with Spanish firms
2014
In this paper we analyse the role of learning through experience in Research and Development (R&D) activities in strengthening firms' capabilities to achieve innovation outcomes and, subsequently, in obtaining rewards in terms of firms' performance. First, using an innovation production function approach, we estimate a count-data model and find that the number of years of engagement in R&D activities, or R&D experience, has a positive effect on the expected number of product innovations, although at a decreasing rate. In addition, our results suggest that, whereas large firms are more efficient than SMEs in converting R&D investment into product innovations, SMEs seem to be able to draw eff…
LEMBAR KERJA PESERTA DIDIK (LKPD) BERBASIS PROBLEM SOLVING POLYA
2017
Lack of exact use of teaching materials and does not correspond to the needs of student leads to lack of analytical ability of students to the process of problem solving. Research development worksheets based on Polya problem solving on the heat material aims to develop valid LKPD, practical, and effective. Stages of development using the 4D model was modified into 3D, namely define (definition), Design (planning), and Development (development) The results of the validity of the learning device in the category valid, obtained from the calculation of CVI are in the range 0-1 and said in category reliably with r 11 value greater than r tabel (r count > r tabel ). The results of the analysis o…
The Potsdam Open Source Radio Interferometry Tool (PORT)
2021
The Potsdam Open Source Radio Interferometry Tool (PORT) is the very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) analysis software developed and maintained at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. Chiefly, PORT is tasked with the timely processing of VLBI sessions and post-processing activities supporting the generation of celestial and terrestrial reference frames. In addition, it serves as a framework for research and development within the GFZ's VLBI working group and is part of the tool set employed in educating young researchers. Starting out from VLBI group delays, PORT estimates station and radio sources positions, as well as Earth orientation parameters, tropospheric parameters, a…
A Novel Model for Cybersecurity Economics and Analysis
2017
In recent times, major cybersecurity breaches and cyber fraud had huge negative impact on victim organisations. The biggest impact made on major areas of business activities. Majority of organisations facing cybersecurity adversity and advanced threats suffers from huge financial and reputation loss. The current security technologies, policies and processes are providing necessary capabilities and cybersecurity mechanism to solve cyber threats and risks. However, current solutions are not providing required mechanism for decision making on impact of cybersecurity breaches and fraud. In this paper, we are reporting initial findings and proposing conceptual solution. The paper is aiming to pr…
